DROWNED IN TUB.
Marton, February 21. At the inquest to-day concerning the death of Gottlieb Reu, a German, who was found drowned in a tub of water in his shop, the Coroner said it was difficult to arrive at a decision, as in spite of evidence that Reu was in financial difficulties, he had shown no inclination to commit suicide. He was known as a kind husband and father, and one who might be imagined to think twice before taking his life. “It is just possible,” added the Coroner, “that deceased may have been washing his hands and been overtaken with one of those stomach seizures of which he complained, and have fallen into the tub. For myself, I am inclined to think that it is not suicide, but the verdict will be that deceased was found drowned, there being no evidence to show whether it was accidental or intentional.
