MINISTER OF HEALTH VISITS PALMERSTON NORTH.

CONFERS WIITH HOSPITAL

BOARD,

Honorable J. A. Young, Minister of Health, and Dr. Valentine, who arrived in Palmerston North yesterday, went into conference during the afternoon with the members of the Palmerston North Hospital ,Board on questions concerning the new maternity hospital. Although the deliberations of the conference cannot be made public as yet, it is understood that a satisfactory arrangement was arrived at.

Matters in connection with tho training .of mid-wives in the home were discussed.

After meeting the Board, the Minister visited the public hospital in order to enquire after Mr. H. W. Eyes, one of the victims of yesterday’s distressing level crossing accident. Mr Young also inspected the progress of the work on the maternity home and expressed his satisfaction with the work. Mr. Young left for the North by the Limited Express last evening. Dr. Valentine returned ;to Wellington during the afternoon.
