SWIMMING.
At. the Palmerston North Municipal Baths last night local swimmers met with the following success : Men’s 66 2-3 yards handicap:— Third heat: G. Hirini (8 sec.) 1. Time 55 sec. Hirini was unplaced in the final. ' / Men’s handicap, 100 yards: —W. Harrison (4 sec.) 2 : Final: N. Dowsett (Wanganui) 1, E. Fletcher (Palmerston North) 2, W. Harrison (Foxton) 3. Time 60 2-5 sec., a record for. the Municipal 'baths. Boys’ 66 2-5 yards' handicap, (under- 16) : First heat: G. Hirini (scr.) 2. Hirini was unplaced in the final.
This evening a relay challenge race for the Hornblow Ferns will he swum in the local baths. The teams are as follows: —
G. Perreau, Marshall and-Walls (holders); T. Fuller, R, Hornblow, Moore (challengers). The cballen 7 . gers receive 5 sec. on the holders. The following will represent the camp to-morrow in the relay ra-
ces : Marchant, Blewdon, Molliev, McKay, Fraser, Jelfries and Reid. Foxton’s teams will be as follows: — A team: Harrison, North, G. Hirini, and Hirini. iB team: Marshall, Graham, Perreau, and E. Robinson. C team: T. Fuller, R. Hornblow, Iv. Hirini and Moore.
