COUNCIL TO TAKE OVER ROYAL THEATRE.
SEVEN YEARS’ LEASE. At last night’s meeting of the Borough Council the Town Clerk (Mr. W. Trueman) submitted to the Council for its approval or otherwise a signed agreement whereby the Council could take over the
lease of the Royal Theatre for a. term of seven years. The matter was given a good deal of consideration, and it was finally decided that an agreement between Mrs. Hamer and the Council to lease the Royal Theatre for a term of seven years ait a rental of £250 per annum be signed subject to a registered lease being prepared.
