GIN SEVERELY ASSAULTED

Because his, gin would not go fox water when he ordered her, an oboriginal, Joe Jackawarra, made a savage attack on the woman with an axe, a gun, and stones at the blacks’ camp near Kellerberrin, Western Australia. He also tried to choke her. First hitting the woman with the axe, the man next belaboured her with the gun until the stock broke. He then hurled stones at her. She was badly but 'not seriously hurt before Jackawarra was overpowered. He was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment.
