(To the Editor)

Sir, —Will you permit me to call the attention of the authorities to the danger of permitting the road graders on the highway between Foxton and Palmerston to heap up long lines of loose metal, without levelling same. The ridge of metal causes ears to swerve dangerously independent of speed and when passing lorries the risk is increased. The highway, sir, is bad enough without adding a further menace. The increased taxation we are now paying entitles motorists to more consideration than in times past, and I hope that the present dangerous method of grading without levelling will be stopped, Thanking you in anticipation. I am, etc., MOTORIST.
