“RUBBER HEELS.” Ed. Wynn and Chester Conklin are the stars in the amusing feature “Rubber Heels,” at the Town Hall Cabaret to-morrow (Wednesday) evening. “Rubber Heels,” is the amusing tale of Homer Thrush. Homer secures a position in Tennyson Hawks’ detective agency, but doesn’t last long, ns he soon finds things that aren’t quite right. In reality, Hawks is the leader of a gang of thieves who take jewellery while posing as detectives, in order to obtain the rewards offered for the return of such property as they steal! Later, Homer decides to do a bit of “free lancing.” He contracts to guard a chest of valuable foreign crown jewels at a society function, and is getting along remarkably well until Tennyson and his friends get busy. Then —the fun begins, and doesn’t let up until Homer finds himself drifting with Niagara Falls waiting to receive him with open arms! With full supporting programme. Cabaret prices.
At unfortunately rare intervals, a thrilling story of adventure, romance and thrills makes its way to the screen, with a brilliant cast and an expert director to intensify its interest. Such a story is “The Fighting Edge,” written by Win. McLeod Raine, and directed by Henry Lehrman. This Master Picture is coming to our theatre next Friday, and the cast is headed by Patsy Rutli Miller and Kenneth Harlan.
Saturday’s feature is “The Fire Brigade.”
