HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

The continued dry spell has had a deteriorating effect on the local gardens, many normally full of bloom at this time, are withered and dry, while the vegetable gardens and orchards are also showing the effect of the lack of rain. The executive of the Horticultural Society feel that before the committee enter upon the proposed autumn show all members should have an opportunity to express their opinion. A meeting is called -for Thursday at 8 p.m. 'in the Presbyterian schoolroom.
