A HUMAN SKULL.
FOUND NEAR RANGIWAEA,
Taihape, February 3. —p Two residents of Rangiwaea have discovered a skull, embedded in limestone on a ledge beside a creek adjacent to the Rangiwaea Road, about five miles from Hihitahi. The skull, whffeh is believed to be that of a European, aged about 17, rested on a spot beneath a waterfall, the course of which had been dry for some considerable time. The limestone formation was moulded around part of the top of the skull.
Constable King, of Taihape, proceeded to the locality mentioned and experienced no difficulty in locating the skull, but a thorough search for any bones was fruitless, Constable King brought, the skull back to Taihape, and it has been examined by an expert, who is unable to state whether the skull be-/ 1 longs to a male or female.
