MARTON TERRITORIAL CAMP.

The sixteen local Territorials, who have just completed a fortnight’s military training on the Marton racecourse, returned home on, Saturlay evening . On the night previous to breaking camp the winners of the camp competitions were announced and the various trophies presented. The most successful company was A Wanganui, which annexed several cups, including the Cooke Cup for aggregate points, presented by Lieutenant-Colonel Cooke, who died in action in May, 1918. The points scored were as follows:—A Company (Wanganui).-

804; R Company (Wanganui), 757; C Company (country districts, including local Territorials), (504; D Company (country), 050. The route march cup, presented by the Wanganui Hotelkeepers’ Association, was won by A Company. The company drill cup, presented by the offijcers of the regiment in 1912, was also won by f A Company, to whom the sports aggregate cup was also presented. B Company won the cup presented for the neatest tent lines, while D Company won the physical drill cup.

In connection with the presentation of trophies, a concert was held, items being given by the Junior Garrison Band and the men.
