GUIDES AND SCOUTS IN CAMP.
The local companies of Girl Guides under Commissioner A Kebbell, of Levin, are in camp at the local seaside where they will remain until Tuesday next, During the period “under canvas,” they will be instructed in the various duties connected with the ti’aining schedule. Mrs. Stanley and Miss Hussey, officers of the troop, are also in attendance. The Committee have done everything possible to make the camp life comfortable and enjoyable for the 21 girls. The Boy Scouts, to the number of 12, proceeded to Ohau last Friday under Scoutmaster Warwick, assistant scoutmasters Rev. W. H. Walton and N. Burdes. Excellent weather has prevailed during the time the boys have been in camp and they are keenly appreciating the outing and useful work has been accomplished. The boys will return this week.
