BUSH FIRES NEAR RAETIHI.
Ohakuue, Last Night. Bush fires are growing dangerous near Raetihi owing to heavy winds. At Ohakune there arc several fires, but they are driving past the town. At Raetihi there is considerable danger if the wind continues.

Special cheap excursion tickets, available until 24th January, will ho issued to Foxton us under: — From Palmerston North, Bainessc, and intermediate stations on 21st January by trains leaving Palmerston North 9.40 a.m., and on 23rd January by trains leaving Palmerston North 9.40,10.5,10.43 a.m. Return fare from Rangiotu 3/3 Ist and 2/2 2nd class. TRAIN ARRANGEMENTS. 21st JANUARY. j Usual 10.43 a.m. Palmerston North to Foxton train leaves Palmerston North 9.40 a.m., Longburn 9.52. Usual 1.10 p.m. Foxlon-Palmer-ston North train will leave Foxton 5.0 p.m., 'Racecourse 5.10 p.m., for Palmerston jNorth. These trains stop where required for passengers. 23rd JANUARY. Special trains leave Palmerston North 9.40 and 10.5 a.m., Longburn 9.52, 10.17, Rangiotu 10.33, Hjmatangi 10.26, Foxton racecourse arrive 10.42 and 11.'6, Foxton arr. 10.45, 11.9 a.m. 9.40 a.m. special train will not stop for passengers at Rangiotu and Bain esse. * 10.5 a.m. special train will not stop for passengers between Longburn and Foxton racecourse excepting at Rangiotu and Bainesse. Usual 10.43 a.m. Palmerston North-Foxton will st#p if required at Foxton racecourse. Return trains leave Foxton 4.45, 5.30 p.m., racecourse 5.10, 5.40 p.m. for Palmerston North. 5.10 p.m. train from racecourse, Palmerston North arr. 6.9 p.m., will stop only at Longburn. 5.40 p.m. train from racecourse, Palmerston North arr. 6.49 p.m., stops whei'Qj, requireS. Usual 4.15 p.m. Palmerston North to Foxton train leaves Palmerston North 6.25 p.m. (after connecting with 5.40 p.m. special from Ashhurst) Longburn 6.41, Rangiotu 7.3, Himatangi 7.34. Goods sheds at Foxton will be closed on 23rd January.
