Mi-. G. L. Petersen, agent for Wirth Bros. 'Circus, was in town to-day making arrangements for the forthcoming visit of the circus to Foxton, on February 3rd.

R. E. Aubin, son of Dr. Aubin, ol Auckland, climbed Mount Cook' on Thursday with Guide Jack Pope. Weather conditions were perfect and the climh made in excellent time of 18 hours.

Drs. D. S. Wyllie, P. T. Putnam, G. A. Forrest, and J. Miller, have been reappointed as hon. surgeons to the Palmerston North Hospital. Dr. Salmon (Feilding) has been elected hon. assistant surgeon, Dr. D. H. Bett hon. surgeon and physician to the children’s ward; Drs. Durward and Ivan Wilson, hon. physicians to the hospital; Drs. Bransgrove and Munro, hon. specialists in ear, throat, eye, and’nose; Mr J. S. Horhblow, hon. dentist.
