BLAZE AT TAUMARUNUI.

Taumarunui, Yesterday. •Fire late on Sunday night broke out at the rear of buildings in Main St., occupied by Messrs Gardner’s, Ltd., drapers, and Mr F. E. West, baker. The'fire spread with amazing rapidity in the wooden buildings, and had a strong hold when the alarm was given. The origin of the fire is not known. The building occupied by Gardners was owned by Mr J. E. Long, of Auckland. The insurances are not available. The stock and fittings were insured for £3,500 in tre New Zealand Office. Mr West’s premises were owned by Mi’. Goodwin, of Wellington. None of the insurances are available.
