MR. MAGE’S MISSION.
To a large, interested and atteiir tive audience, Mr. Mace spoke on Sunday evening at the supper room of the Town Hall on “Divine Athletics.” Jacob, Abraham and Enoch (Gens. 32, 18, 5,) served to illustrate the subject. Jacob for wrestling, Abraham standing, Endch walking. Though diverse in their' general character each man was alone with God. Jacob overcome, clung in his, weakness to his “Victof,” and on confessing his name, Jacob the supp] an ter, there and then was blessed with a new one—lsrael, a Prince of God.
Abraham, standing before, tho Lord, pleaded importunately for Sodom, threatened with judgment, but could not avert it for the ten righteous could not be found therein. ’ '
Enoch changing his course at the age of sixty-five, at the birth of his SOU,' Methusalah, walked with God for three hundred years was suddenly translated to glory to enjoy Him forever. Last night extra seating had to be provided to accommodate the audience.
