PRESBYTERIAN SUNDAY SCHOOL

ANNIVERSARY SERVICES AND PRIZE GIVING. The children’s anniversary services were held in the Presbyterian Church on Sunday morning, when Mr. W. H. Nicholas specially addressed the young people. In the afternoon, in the 'Sunday schoolroom the Sunday school prize giving took place, when the following pupils were awarded prizes:— Kindergarten:—Miss McEwen’s class: Kathleen Shaw and Lionel Munn (special prizes for attendance), Gertrude Honour, Audrey King, Norma Reid, Jean Stevenson, Beverley Barron, Kathleen 'Shaw, Lionel Munn.

Miss Satherley’s class: Gladys McEwen and Lindsay Knewstubb (special prizes for attendance), Douglas Clark, Vida Barron, Cliff Nash, Thomas, Thompson, Joyce Clark, Jean Reid, 'Douglas Stevenson, Gladys McEwen, Lindsay Knewstubb.

Junior Girls: —Miss McMurray’s class: Shirlie Barron 1, Zena Fraser 2, Gwen Baird 3, Flo Roore (for attention in class), Stella Roore (for conduct). Miss Patterson’s class: Joan Barron 1, Daphne Stevenson 2, Jessie Kennedy, Gladys Kennedy, Alison Baird.

Intermediate Girls: —Miss Ross’s class: May MeKnight 1, Elsie Rout, Ula Thomson equal 2, Maude King 3, Mary Thynne, Madge King, Lexie Tollison, Audrey Barron, Margaret Hay, Margaret Stevenson.

Senior Girls Mrs. Ross’s class: Gwen Lekie and Joyce Shaw equal 1, Miriam Symons 2, Ivy Tollison (special prize for catechism), Rosy Munn (special prize for neatness in homework), Joyce Shaw (special prize for homework), Edna Tollison, Margaret Barron and Iris McEwen (general proficiency). Boys:—Mr. Nicholas’s class. Mr. Jim Ross’s special prize for boy with most marks awarded to Allan MeKnight, Wilfred Symons 2,. John Nicholas and Ronald- McEwen 3, David Hay (special prize for attendance), Richard Haydoek, Collin Baird, Allan Baird, Douglas Speirs, Clarence Knewstubb, Monty Munn.
