BOWLING.

TRIANGULAR SHIELD CONTEST AT FOXTON TO-MORROW. The second round of the Triangular Shield contest will be played at Foxton to-morrow, when two rinks from Shannon and two from Levin will compete with four Foxton rinks. At Levin on Wednesday last the first round was played, when the Levin club secured a considerable lead on the average figure against Shannon and Foxton, the averages being as follows: —Levin, four games, 25 \ points; Shannon, two games, 14 i points; Foxton, two games, 13| points. Play will commence at 2, p.m. sharp to-morrow. Bowlers and croquet players are requested to bring a basket to assist with the catering arrangements. LEVIN RETAINS DIXON CUP. The Levin rink which secured the Dixon Cup from Feilding recently, were successful in defending the trophy against a challenging rink ‘from Manawatu Club on' Saturday last. Messrs Eckersley, Spooner, Corbridge and Radford (skip) comprised the rink from the Manawatu Club, while Messrs Holdaway, Bull, Clements and Suhan (skip), were the holders who successfully defended the trophy, winning by 28 to 17. Levin had the better of the game right through, though it was a well-fought one, and quite a little excitement was in evidence when the scores were close. Levin Club received challenges from seven other clubs.
