BROKEN TIME.

FLAXMILL EMPLOYEES HARD HIT. Indications are that this Christmas will prove a very lean one for local iiaxmill employees. There has been scarcely any work for them during the winter, and almost as soon as the mills started running the swamps became flooded, and broken time ensued. On Monday an attempt was made by cutters to re-commence operations in some of the swamps, hut it was found to be impossible owing to the water, which was waist deep. The present weather conditions look as though it will be some time before the swamps will be in a tit state to allow ol' the cutting of green leaf.
