FOXTON SWIMMING CLUB.

COMMITTEE MEETING. A committe meeting of the Foxton •Swimming Club was held in Walls’ Rooms on Thursday evening, presided over by the President (Mr. 11. Hutchins). Also present were Mrs. J. McKenna, Misses Perreau and Gower and Messrs ,A. Walls, R. Hornblow and the secretary (Mr. D. R. Barron). An apology for absence was received' from Mr. D. Christie. The President said that the meeting was the first committee meeting of the Club: and he was pleased to be associated with such a body. The members, he said, were all workers and he felt sure that before long the Foxton Swimming Club would be a really live body. A donation of 10/6 was received from Mr. M. E. Perreau and' a trophy to the value of £1 Is Od from Mr. J. McKenna,, both donors being accorded a vote of thanks. It was decided that Mr. McKenna’s trophy be allotted as a points prize for school children. The question of holding a sports meeting was discussed and it was decided to hold the matter over until after the new year. In the meantime, however, it was decided to commence events for the*, various points prizes donated. They are as follows: — Men: —-Senior: Barr and Tyer Cup; Junior: Mr. J. K. Hornblow’s trophy. Ladies:—C. M. Ross Co.’s trophy.. School children: —Mr. J. McKenna’s trophy. Relay Racing: —Mr. Desjardines’ silver ferns. \ Nomination for all events close with the caretaker of the baths at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23rd and the first races for the points prizes to be held, the following evening at 6.30 p.m. and to be as follows: -Senior: 50 yards; Juniors: 25 iyards; ladies: 25 yards; schoolchildren: 25 yards; relay race (teams of three), 25 yards, 50 yards, and 25 yards. Mrs. J. McKenna and Messrs H. Hutchins and D. R. 'Barron were elected handicappers and Mr. C. Pritchard, time keeper. Mrs. J. Walls was elected an honorary member of the Club.
