The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand opened at 'Christchurch on Tuesday when Rev. James Aitken, of Gisborne, was installed as Moderator for the coming year. Members of the Assembly were given a civic welcome by the Mayor (Rev. J. K. Archer).
