FIRE BRIGADE BALL.
The annual Fire, Brigade ball, which was held in the Town Hall on Thursday evening, was a huge success, both socially and financially. Firemen and their friends were present from neighbouring towns. The hall was tastefully decorated with rainbow streamers, and balloons, while a large star on the stage, covered with numerous small mirrors reflected with dazzling effect a spot light from the operating box. The lighting effects were particularly fine. The supper-room was also tastefully decorated and the fare provided left nothing to be desired. The ladies are deserving of a special word of praise for their efforts in this connection. Messrs M. E. Perieau and R. Desjardines officiated as M’s.C., and Mr A. Walls was the indefatigable secretary.
