HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
SUMMER SHOW. The schedules of the show are being advertised, and' exhibitors are asked if they have not yet secured one to do so, they may be obtained at either Messrs Walls’ or Fairey’s, Main Street or from the secretary. Exhibitors are asked to read the rules especially the one relating to the exhibitors leaving the Hall at 11 n.m. sharp on show day. There are many points of interest to flower growers, especially the cut bloom section, which comprises over 50 entries, and prizes . amounting to over £5 Os Od, besides Mr. W. Ross’s special for best collection of outside blooms. The cookery section also is very varied, this time the prize value of both cookery sections being over £5 Os Od. Special notice is to be taken of the three cakes and the plum pudding recipies, which are on the schedule. The names of Rev. W. 11. Walton and Mr. R. N. Speirs were omitted from the list of donations to the Societies fund, both of 10/0, in the schedule, list. ‘ A further valuable trophy for the V,'ose section, to be won outright, has been donated by Mr. H. Hughes.
