MOTOR FATALITY.
I CAR GOES OVER A BANK. DEATH OF MRS. CAUGHLEY. J Wjellington, November 0. 9 Raroa Road and Norway Street 9 were this morning the scene of a jM I tragedy. Mr. J. Caughley, late Director of Education and recently appointed '.‘.J Director of Education for, Fiji, was I returning from chuch in his motor- J ear with Mrs. Caughley and fam- 9 ily. When turning a corner in Ra- .9 roa Road he observed a boy on a bicycle. Each tried to avoid each | other. The boy swung, outwards,- .* and Mr. Caughley’s car struck the f cycle. Cycle, boy and car went 20 feet' over a bank on to Norway Street below. The car turned over twice during thei fall and Mrs. Caughley was killed, being jammed under the car. Her throat was severely cut. Mr. Caughley received a severe cut a--cross the nose.
The boy hurt his ankle badly and the other occupants in the car received bruises and suffered from shock.
