MANGAHAO MEDICAL SERVICE.
Representatives of the Palmerston Hospital Board conferred with members of the Mangaha'o Medical Committee and Di\ Bell at Shannon on Thursday •morning. The conference was presided over by Mr. J. K. llornbloAA’. Matters in connection with the continuation of the subsidised medical scheme for a further period Avcre discussed' at length and a resolution Avas carried recommending the Board to continue the seheme until March next aid that the Minister for Public Works be requested to continue a grant in aid to the end of the period. It was also recommended to dispense Avith the services of the district nurse at an early date as the reduction of workmen wiijhin the next two months would. not warrant a continuation of her services. The recommendations of the conference Avill be submitted to the next meeting of the Hospital Board. A further conference between the parties to which representatives of the Shannon Borough Council and Chamber of Commerce Avill be invited, will take place in March.
