PETTY THIEVING.

YOUTH FINED £2. ;\Vi Krebb, a lad 17 years of age, was charged at the local S.M. Court yesterday, before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M, with the theft of a pair of gumboots from H. J. Berry, millowner, of Foxton. Constable Owen sajid that for some time past a good deal of petty thieving had' been going on at the local mills, and about a month ago a shed at Berry’s mill had been broken into and tools stolen. Sometime later the pair of gumboots had been removed from the shed. These ,had subsequently been traced to Krebb. Accused, who pleaded guilty was convicted and fined £2 in default seven days’ imprisonment, and an order made for the return of the stolen articles.
