CROQUET NOTES.

Yesterday afternoon members of the Croquet Club met on the green to bid farewell to one of their oldest players, Mrs Ball, who is leaving the district. The ladies provided a tasty afternoon tea and at a suitable juncture Mrs Bryant, Vice-Presi-dent, in the absence of the President, presented Mrs Ball with a small gift and voiced the sentiments of the whole Club when she said that they were losing one of the Club’s best members by the departure from Foxton of Mrs Ball. The Club’s good wishes go with her to her new home. The following are the scores for the afternoon’s play: — Mrs Pearson: breaks, 3; cut-offs, 3. Mrs Parkes: 3,2; Mrs Moore: 5, 2; Mrs Barr: 2,3; Mrs Bryant: 2, 3; Miss Speirs: 2,2; Mrs Staff: 2,1.
