EUCHRE TOURNAMENTS.

FAIR AND HARMLESS. iChristehufrch, Yesterday. Euchre Tournaments are not a breach of the Gaming Act, according to a decision of Mr. Mosley today. The police prosecuted William Alfred Britten, who had conducted tournaments for his own profit. It was admitted that the functions were conducted fairly. The Chief Detective said there was an element oi‘ chance in /that the cards were dealt and the players had different partners.

In dismissing the information the Magistrate held that skill predominated, and said there was nothing prejudicial to the public moials where games were played as in the ease under consideration.
