An old rabbiter who had been isolated for over seven months out back from Moawhango caused some amusement one day last week on his return to the village by ignoring all friendly salutations until his eager question, “Who won the Ranfurly Shield” had been answered. He had to hear the hstory of the tests, and until he had reduced the pressure on his pent-up feelings and opinions on the subject, nothing else mattered.
