WHALES IN THE TASMAN SEA. Auckland, October 21. The Hineinoa arrived at G. 30 a.m. after a record round trip of G days, 5 hours, 20 minutes to Norfolk Island and back. 'When oft the Bay of Islands yesterday evening the vessel ran into a school of whales and was touched on the stem a glancing blow from tlie tail of one of them. An officer says that they saw over 30 whales on the return voyage.
