MASSEY MEMORIAL.
DESIGN APPROVED.
Wellington, Last Night.
A meeting of the Massey Memorial Board was held yesterday afternoon. The, Prime Minister announced that the design of the memorial at Point Hal swell had been finally approved, and that the report of Mr. Hurst Seager, consulting architect, with illustrations and detailed description of the memorial would be published for general information on Wednesday.
A model 'of the memorial, which is at present in Parliament House, will be exhibited in Wellington in the course of a few days.
The Prime Minister further intimated that the Board had approved the use of white marble from a part of the Takaka quarries which had not previously been opened up. This marble has been most favourably reported upon by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research.
