EPIDEMIC OF COLDS.

PRIMARY SCHOOL TO CLOSE FOR A FEW DAYS.

The attendance of pupils in the primary department of the local District High School has been so seriously affected by a mild form of influenza that it has been decided to close the primary classes for a few days and to have the school thoroughly disinfected. Yesterday there were 103 pupils absent and to-day 160. Four of the teachers were also unable to attend. The secondary classes will continue as usual, as they are accommodated in separate buildings.

The outbreak is of a mild character, and the children affected should be able to resume again in a few days.
