MANAWATU METROPOLITAN SPRING SHOW.
Saturday next 15th inst., is closing date for live stock, competitions, and fleece wool entries and those breeders who contemplate exhibiting and who have not yet sent in their entries are requested to do so as early as possible, so that the printing of the catalogue may not tie delayed.
The special classes for bacon and pork pigs will be very interesting in view of the conditions attached to the bacon class. These pigs are to be killed, held in store until prior to 1928 Winter Show when they will be cured and exhibited as bacon at that fixture.
A new departure is the Whippet Racing events, an event never before staged oil any New Zealand showground. With the tremendous interest that has been aroused with the Greyhound Mechanical Hare coursing in England and othei countries Whippet Racing though not the same- thing as Mechanical Hare coursing will provide all the thrills desired. The Railway Department will carry passengers from all points south of Frankton (including Thames, Rotorua, and Cambridge, lines), in the North Island and any station in the South Island. T is is a magnificent concession an should induce many who have no previously visited the famous s iov at Palmerston North to do so this year.
