PERSONAL.

The many friends of Harry Jacob, skipper of the Manawhenua Rugby representatives, who had to enter the Palmerston North Hospital last Sunday week, owing to a severe injury sustained in a club match in Levin, will be glad to know that he has made such progress that he is expected to be out of bed to-morrow morning and able to return to his home on Thursday. A sad bereavement has been sustained by Mr. and Mrs. J. Casey, of Levin, their four-year-old daughter, Freda, having passed away at 7 o’clock yesterday morning (says the Chronicle). Much sympathy will be extended to Mr. and Mrs. Casey, who had but two children, the other being a little boy who i is about two years younger than the 1 sister. The funeral will leave the parents’ residence at 2 p.m. to-mor-row for the Levin Cemetery.
