ALLEGED MANSLAUGHTER
PROMINENT JOCKEY -ARRESTED. iAjucklarid, 'Sept. 27. The well-known jockey, W. S. Bagby, aged 20, was arrested today on a charge of manslaughter in connection with the death on Monday evening of Mrs. Elizabeth Short, after being knocked down by a motor-cai’. Bagby was released on bail, which was fixed at £IOOO in his own recognisance and two sureties of £SOO each. Mrs. Short was the wife of Mr. ■W. S. 'Short, formerly Undersecretary T>f Public Works.
