A TRAGIC DEATH.
DROWNED IN SHALLOW CREEK FATALITY NEAR WHANGAREI. Whangarei, Sept. 28. A death of tragic suddenness occurred at Tikipunga quarry yesterday afternoon, when Herbert Chisholm Plaisted, a team driver, met his end. According to a statement made to the police, Plaisted arrived with his team at Hardie’s quarry at 12.40 p.m. He worked till 2 p.in.,. when all hands stopped a few minutes for a smoke.
