INFANTILE PARALYSIS.
RECURRENCE OF EPIDEMIC POSSIBLE. Christchurch, September 17. Epidemics of infantile paralysis have appeared at intervals of four or five years since 1912. On this basis Dr. J. L. Will told the New Zealand Masseurs’ Association that another epidemic might be expected in 1929 or 1930. In America there was a definite conclusion that the disease was carried by air from one person to another from nasal secretion. One means of spread of the disease was the kissing and fondling of children. The most efficient control was the isolation of patients as soon as the presence of the disease was detected and the prevention of all gatherings of children.
