While rebuilding the walls of Te Poronu Redoubt (Whakatane) recently for film purposes, the gate, chain and portion qf a human skeleton were unearthed.
Questions asked in the British Parliament cost, on an average, £1 10s each to answer. There may be as many as 120 questions in one day’s order paper. For the first time in 125 years a girl has been born in the Kohler family, at Woking, England. The father is one of six sons, and his father w'as one of five sons.
Tobacco consumption is still increasing in Britain. In January to June, 1924, the quantity was 73,805,7681" b. Last year, for the same period, it had increased to 78,421,1521 b.
