BODY FOUND ON BEACH.
OF WITNESS IN MOUAT CASE. An inquest on James Hency, whose body was found washed up on the beach at New Brighton on Wednesday, was held at Christchurch on Friday last. Heney, who had been a barman at the Rofcherfield Hotel, had been recently dismissed from his position on account of his age, and Heney had said he was “very cut-up about it,” and he had ho chance of getting another position. When found, the body had not been long in the water. The presumption was that the man had walked into the sea and been drowned. The Coroner returned a verdict that Heney was found drowned. Heney was one of the most important witnesses in the Mouat murder trial. He was the last person who had seen Mrs. Mouat alive.
