FOXTON FOOTBALL CLUB SOCIAL.

Last night the Foxton Football Committee held a “wind-up” social in the Masonic Hall for its members. There was a large attendance and dancing and games were indulged in, a pleasant social, evening being spent by all present. During the evening Mr J. K. Hornblow (Vice-President) presented Mr G. Williams with the Club’s gold ntedal for the most improved Junior player this year, and, in doing so, said that it had been unanimous among both selectors and players that “Gelf” should be awarded the medal. The speaker also referred to the late Mr F. Williams’ long association with the Foxton Club as a player and later, as a coach of a team that held an almost unbeaten record. The late Mr Williams had been a good player and a great sport and he was pleased to see that he had transmitted those qualities to his son (applause). All joined in singing “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow,” after which cheers were given for the recipient. The supper arrangements were carried out by the ladies’ committee, and left nothing to be desired. Music was provided by Mesdames Ross, and Bowden and Messrs J. Newton, E. Graham and I. Corn.
