TRAVELLER KILLED.
FALLS UNDER LIMITED EXPRESS. A man was seen running towards the front of the “Limited” just as it was drawing out from the Thorndon Station platform at 7.15 p.m. on Sunday. The suit case which he held in one hand struck against a hurdle half-way down the platform and flung him against the moving train. He fell between two carriages and caught a rail with either hand, being dragged about 70 yards and then rolling under the wheels. A passenger on the express applied the Westinghouse brake, and the Limited drew up a quarter of a mile further on. The man’s body was found to be shockingly mutilated. His suit-case was labelled “L. Taylor,” and amongst his papers was found a motor -jdrivejr’s license made out tq William J. L. Taylor, farmer, Bunnythorpe.
