NO ALTERNATIVES TC FOOL YOU. Below will be found SIXTY letters, each in a square, and these letters are to be cut out and arranged to form the names of railway stations taken from the N.Z. Railway Guide. A simple way to do this puzzle is to cut out the letters, place them on a table, and then proceed to arrange them into names. Make up as many names as you can, write them down in alphabetical order on a piece of paper, state the number of names and also state the number of letters left over not used. Then add your name and address, and post together with Postal Note for One Shilling to “PLUSWORDIS No. 2,” Box 27, Poxton, not later than Tuesday, 30th August, 1927. Prizes as above will be awarded to the competitors sending in the largest number of stations. No names to appear- ‘ twice on anyone list. The Special Prize of £5 will be awarded to the competitor who sends in a list of stations corresponding to the key list from which the letters in this competition were taken. The letters will be found easier to handle if you copy them out on a piece of cardhoard and then cut them up. NOTE: Only the letters shown must be used, each letter to be used only as many times as it appears above. In the event of a tie, consideration will be given to the competitor who has used most of the letters given and who has the smallest number left over. If five or more competitors tie for Ist prize, the whole of the ordinary prize money will be divided among them. Results published 10th September, 1927. Prizewinners No. 1 Competition: The Ist Prize of £ls, is won by Jean Bringans, Patna St., Ngaio, with 14 stations as follows: —Ava, Belmont, Oust, Fleming, Gore, Hyde, Kew, Moana, Ohau, Puha, Rotu, Styx, Tui, Wiri, with no letters left over. The 2nd Prize of £3 is won by D. Ginnane, Rongomai Factory, Eketahuna for 14 names as follows: —'Bulls, Cave, Gore, Hyde, Howe, Kew, Mina, Marton, Ngaio, Puha, Rotu, Styx, Tui, Tumai, with one letter (F) over. The 3rd Prize is divided between the following who sent 14 names with 2 letters over: —Mrs G. Russell, 12 Aurora Tee., Wellington; Mrs D. C. McArthur, 24 Fleming,Street, Belfast; Mrs. H. S. Cottrell, 1 A Selwyn Road, Napier. The Key List from which the letters in No. 1 Competition were taken was a follows: —Arno, Athol, Bushey, Cave, Dome, Fleming, Kew, Puha, Styx, Maungaturoto, Wiri, Tui, a total of 60 letters.
