MISSING WHISKY.
THEFT ALLEGED.
BURROWED UNDER BOND STORE. New Plymouth, Aug. 19. Charged with the theft of eight cases of whisky, valued' at £49, the property of the Railway Department, Horaee Alfred Tweedale, who was arrested at Auckland, pleaded not guilty in the Court to-day, and was committed for trial. The whisky was taken from a bond store in the railway goodshed, a hole having been dug, under the bnilding and timber having been cut away and replaced. It was alleged tlie accused had taken the whisky into the King Country in a ear belonging to Mrs Ina Wills, the accused stating he was • selling ladies’ drapery for Airs. Wills.
