HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. The High Commissioner’s cablegram, dated the 20th inst., reads as follows: —Hemp Manila market firmer during this week. “J” grade afloat sold at £44 10s and JulySeptember shipments £44, quieter at close with sellers August-October shipments at £44. Sisal demand is for spot and afloat slow, with sellers No. 1 £3B, and No. 2 £37, tendency firmer for distant shipments with business in October-Decembcr shipments at these prices; tow very little offering at present and value unchanged. New Zealand maiket quiet and prices unchanged, stocks in London on Ist August 50 tons, against 19 tons for the same time last year.
