A very keen player.in the city went home the otlitr day and was told by his wife that Mrs. So-and-so had beaten Mrs. What’s-her-name at the royal and ancient game. “She played very well,” said the lady, “and beat her two up and one down.” “When you are speaking of golf, my dear, I wish you would use the correct terms,” said the golfer. “Don’t show your ignorance.” “I always tell them I don’t know anything about it,” was the response. “I don’t even know how the mallets are used.”
