CORRESPONDENCE
(To the Editor)
Sir, —A short time ago I handed over to the Jubilee Blind Institute the sum of .085, being the proceeds from the sale of a booklet, 1 lmd published. 1 received a note of thanks from the Blind Institute. Al?;o an announcement appeared in the daily papers to the effect that tin* above stun had been received. Since the announcement I have had many enquiries as to the nature of the Booklet, the title and the price. I feel that in response to these enquiries it would he wise to state through the medium of your valuable journal the following particulars: — The title of the booklet m. “The World’s Greatest Power —Woman.” The contents are character descriptions of the various women of the principal countries of the world. The booklet is printed on very superior paper and interspersed therein are characteristic, photographs of the women of the different nntiofl®. The price is 2/6 and the whole of the proceeds of the first edition is to be devoted to the-blind of New Zealand. There are still out booklets to the value of £SOO and when the price 2/6 has been returned for each one of these it would make a sum of close on £6OO for the object. In many instances the charity of
ihc purchasers of the booklet has not been limited to 2/0. Many have been most generous in their contributionsj 5 -, 10/- and even 20/having been forwarded. I have handed over to the Jubilee Institute lln* names of those -who have received the booklets and they will ask them to kindly remit the amount direct to the Institute, as agreed hv me. Also any others desirous of helping can purchase a copy of this booklet for 2/0 by applying or sending the amount to the Jubilee Blind Institute, Auckland, when a booklet will he posted. Thus it will he satisfactory for those who have contributed to this great work of charity to know that the whole of the funds has been received by the Blind Institute and I lie cost has been borne by myself. Also f may stale that this booklet lias been, circulated in many centres throughout New Zealand. Therefore it will lie i life rest in g for them to know the results.
