TE KAWAU BOUNDARY.

A SATISFACTORY ADJUSTMENT

At the meeting of the Manawhenua Union delegates in Levin during the week-end, the question of the boundary between the Horowhenua and Te Kawau districts was discussed, the latter sub-union desiring an alteration so as to take in a portion of the 'Himatangi block in order to acquire a few players, the loss of whom, they contended, would not have a serious effect on the Horowhenua Council. The matter formed the subject of a conference recently between Messrs Robinson, Eglinton and Austin, of the Manawhenua Union, and Mr. Anderson, of the Te Kawau Union. The result was an arrangement to shift the boundary line from a road to the back of a section, the effect of which will be to allow Te Kawau to draw on players in a small area which was within their territory before the amalgamation of Horowhenua and Manawatu. The boundary which was agreed to last year but has not yet been embodied in the rules, and the proposed boundary, were shown by Mr. Eglinton on the map! of the district. On the motion of Mr. Austin, it was resolved that the line as decided by the conference with the district representatives be agreed to, and the players in the Horowhenua district who desire to play for Te Kawau must first apply for permission, and that the same shall obtain in regard to Te Kawau men who wish to play for Horowhenua. Notice of motion has to be given in the Manawhenua Union for the annual meeting, to alter the rules in accordance with the report. THIRD GRADE REP. MATCH." Advice has been received by Mr. J. Casey, secretary of the Horowhenua Rugby District Council, that the Rangitikei third-grade representatives will play the Horowhenua thirds at Mar-ton on Saturday, August 27th, at 1.30 p.m.
