“THE CITY.” The picture version of Clyde Fitch’s great stage play of the a ' hove title will head the programme at the Town Hall on Friday. The story of “The City” deals with the trials of a small town family who go to the city to achieve the political ambitions of the elder son, George Rand, Jr., played by Robert Frazer, his success marred by his unhappiness, first when he sees the effect of a city life on his young sister and then on his mother. Then his own reputation is threatened by an ex-convict,' a role ably enacted by Walter McGrail, and finally all are brought to a realization that their old home town was in every way a better place to live in.
