Horowhenua successfully defended the Bebbington Shield at Levin on Saturday when they defeated Orona by 47 points to 21. On August 24 and 27 the combined team will be filling engagements versus Waikato at Hamilton, and Wellington at Wellington respectively. In view of the fact that Manawhenua are the provisional holders of the Ranfurly Shield, the results of the northern tour will be of considerable interest.
