HOCKEY
At this week’s meeting of the executive of the Ladies’ Hockey Club, held in Palmerston North the secretary was instructed to write to the Bush Union asking for A and B representative teams to play in Palmerston North on August 24. For the tourney, Mr. Vasey was appointed managei: and Mrs. Vasey chaperone; for the B team, Mr. Blackbourn manager and Mrs. Scott chaperone. Manawatu will bo represented as follows at the tourney:— A. team. —Mrs. Morgan (goal); Misses M. Scott, L. McSweeney (full-backs); V. Isaacs, de Clcene, M. Stratton (halves), G. McKenzie, W. Ranson, M. Waters, E. Jones, M. Newth (forwards). Emergencies : Misses Isaacs, Bishop (backs) Davis and B. Gower (forwards). B. team.—Miss V. Blackbourn (goal), Iv. Park, M. Robinson (full-backs), I. McMinn, M. Tanner, E. Morgan (halves), Smith, Gerrand, Hall Simpson and G. Bartiett (forwards). Emergencies: M. Watt, K. McMinn (backs) V. Christensen, D. Redshaw (forwards).
