GAS WORKS
JUNE WORKING. The amount of gas manufactured during the month of June was 422,500 feet, which with the amount in the holder on June Ist 12,800 feet made a total of 435,300 feet. During the month 300,500 feet were
used by consumers, 21,500 ft. at the works and there was 15,200 ft. in the holder on July Ist, making a total of 403,200 feet accounted for and leaving 32,100 feet representing 7.3 per cent, unaccounted for. Thirtynine tons of coal were carbonised, yielding 10,833 c.feet of gas per ton and producing 10 tons of coke. The receipts for the month totalled £243 18s 8d and were made up as follows: —Gas sales (lighting) £4O 9s sd, heat and power £132 14s 4d, coke sales £22 ÜBs od, :tar sales £4O 3s Od, miscellaneous £1 15s 2d.
The expenditure for the month totalled £273 5s lOd and was made up as follows: —Coal £lO9 10s Od, salaries and wages £6O 14s Od, services and fittings £l6 6s Od, tools £6 7s sd, general repairs £9 0s 4d, ■cartage and freight £4 15s 7d, working expenses 14/9, Power Board £2 10s Od, Interest and 'Sinking Fund £63 7s 3d—Adopted.
